We’re celebrating the release of Sait Tuzel from Turkish prison!
Sait Tuzel, a media literacy researcher in Turkey and a valued member of the Media Education Lab, was jailed for 8 months after being unfairly accused of terrorism by the Turkish government. Along with more than 30,000 academics, journalists and judges, Sait has been fired from his job as a tenured Associate Professor of Education in language arts education with a speciality in media literacy. His wife has also been fired from her university post. Neither of them can work at a university or leave the country as their passports have been revoked.
